Not if you use Apple's Drive Setup. There are other 3rd party formatting
tools that may allow you to resize partitions (although a good backup is
standard).

Subject: Saving Mac files when installing
I'm thinking of installing yellowdog linux on my iMac and
plan to
partition my drive so I have both MacOS and Linux. Is there
a way I can
preserve my Mac files when I do this (other than storing
them elsewhere
and reloading them)?
