Rob,
I believe the answer to your second question is that the Performa's
internal CDROM drive is the problem. Sorry, I don't remember the
specifics or which list I saw this answered, but I believe the post said
the only solution was to replace the CDROM drive.
Anyone else have a better answer/workaround?

Stubborn and bullheaded because I'm trying to install YDL 2.0 on my
Performa 6116CD.
2) The installer sees the original internal Apple CD-Rom, but could
not mount the installer CD. I disconnected it and attached an old
external cd drive and it worked, but I need the external elsewhere so
that's not a long term solution. How do I resolve the CD problem?
