Subject: 2.4 kernel and ppp no good together???

Hello all I have tried installing the 2.4 kernel via the rpm on the
tasty morsels cd but after I install it ppp refuses to work. It just
gives the message cannot bring up interface when I use the ppp dialer
application. Does anyone know what is happening and how I can fix it or
am I going to have to compile the kernel to get it to work?
