For a similar problem (printtool not recognising my Epson C40UX) I
ended up obtaining and compiling CUPS and gimp-print. This worked
fine for me, the gimp-print drivers cover most Epson printers. This
was on a 7600/200 with YDL 2.1 and worked fine for me.
