Thanks, 2.4.18 worked fine this time. Thanks for the info about 2.4.19pre4.

Strange that ppckernel.org already has the pre-built OldWorld SCSI kernel up
there when it doesn't boot, on at least some machines, anyway. A little
hasty ?
