1. problem: hang on install. apparent missing file
2. experience: Mac-heavy user exper., Linux-zero experience
3. system: Performa 6400, stock 1.6G Quantum Fireball, Matrox graphics,
32Mb ram
Details: downloaded files burned to CD
partitioned drive 200Mb Mac/1.4Gb Yellow Dog
MacOS 9.04 installed (also tried 7.6)
BootX comes up strong and flies through the installation
till
item 107 or 108 (of the 114 items being installed) then
stops
alert shows missing file (unnamed) and installation ends
on reboot the Linux stuff loads partly, then hangs at VFS
"Unable to mount Root FS on 08:01
"...bread failed dev=08:01
Questions: 1) which is the problem file/folder that needs
to be replaced? 2) Do I need a larger Mac partition
for any Linux files being installed there? -Thanks
