hello there, I was wondering if you could help me out. I have a 350mhz G4
(yikes?-it has the latest motherboard type). I'm using a G3 USB mouse. I
downloaded the latest kernel and Bootx, and installed everything OK.
When I
rebooted, when Xwindows started I could login, but could not use the
mouse. I
read an earlier post about getting mouseconfig4.0-1appc.rpm, in order
for the
mouse to function.

Well, here is my problem. Can download it when in MacOS, mount the hfs+
partition under linux, and then use it? I think not. Do I have to configure
linux to connect to the internet and download, so that I have it on my root
partition? I have tried to configuring it so I can connect, but I'm not sure
where to start. I tried using minicom to work out what port my internal modem
was (dev/ttyS1 ?), so that I could call up my ISP, work out how I log
on, and
then make a connect script for pppd and chat. Minicom says "initializing modem"
when I usae /dev/ttyS1, but it then crashes and I can't enter any text. :?
I'm not sure what to do. Is there an easier way to connect to the
internet so I
can ftp ..... Any help is greatly appreciated. Tom.
