just run Xconfigurator as root...

Also, depending on what kernel you're using and what patches you
have installed, things will vary. So:

a) what G4 (AGP or PCI) do you have?
b) which kernel are you using? (2.2.12 has ATI Rage 128 support)
c) if (b) is older than 2.2.12, did you apply the patch for Rage 128 support

There's another URL that someone sent to me on setting up keymaps,
etc, but I don't have it at work with me...

sounds like your disks are formatted as HFS+ which is not yet supported
by hfsutils
