Yellow Dog Linux Bugfix Announcement
------------------------------------

Package: etcskel
Issue Date: May 07, 2000
Update Date: May 07, 2000
Priority: low
Advisory ID: YDU-20000507-1

1. Topic:

The etcskel package was missing several default user configuration
   files.

2. Problem:

etcskel, the packages that provides files to be installed
in each user's account, was missing the files: .bash_logout,
   .bash_profile and .bashrc.

The above files are responsible for setting up a user's command-line
defaults such as their path (the directories which the shell will
   look for an executed program).

3. Solution:

   a) Updating via yup...
We suggest that you use the Yellow Dog Update Program (yup)
to keep your system up-to-date. The following command will
automatically retrieve and install the fixed version of
   man onto your system:

           yup update etcskel

   b) Updating manually...
The update can also be retrieved manually from our ftp site
below along with the rpm command that should be used to install
   the update.

   ftp://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog/updates/champion-1.2/ppc/RPMS/
   etcskel-2.3-1.noarch.rpm

        rpm -Fvh etcskel-2.3-1.noarch.rpm

Then from your non-root account: cp /etc/skel/.bash* ~/
