Another Thought PPC/x86 Emulation

I've been thinking about doing something like that too,
not because I want MacOS on Intel but to get an environment
to build a small kernel just for fun. PPCSim is included
in gdb now and that might be the way I go or I'll build a
virtual machine. But as always, I have to find some time
to do it on.

For PPC/x86 emulation I think code translation
is the way to go and that is not part of my plan.

The best solution for me would be a port of mol that runs on MacOS X.

I know Samuel has been thinking about a small kernel that runs
one or more instances of mol. A little bit like vmware works.
Is there anyone that is intrested in that?

/P

PPC emulation for x86 may be a very worthwhile project for another
reason than simply getting our favorite OS on x86... If someone
actively develops a ppc emulator that is quite comparable to current
ppc speeds (a Pentium 4 running emulated ppc comparable to the fastest
Apple machine at the moment) it may give Apple a kick in the pants to
release OSX on x86 hardware. I know that that may be a long shot, but
anything to put a little fire under Apple would help.
