Subject: kernel module version mismatch

I just got 0.9.49, compiled, installed, and run startmol
(with the rsynced 2.2.17pre19-ben1 kernel patched),
then the following messages are given:

    Mac-on-Linux (C) 1997-2000 Samuel Rydh <samuel@ibrium.se>
Uses binaries and modules in /usr/lib/mol
Trying to load the Mac-on-Linux kernel module.

    Removing stale lockfile /var/lock/mol
    Version 0.9.49
    Using resource file '/etc/molrc'
    Using MOL library directory '/usr/lib/mol'
    MOL kernel module 0.0.38
MOL kernel module version mismatch: 1.1.49 required, has 0.0.38
Please unload the kernel module (rmmod mol) and try again

The problem occurs even with 0.9.48 and earlier.

MOL was compiled and run on VineSeed (a development branch of Vine Linux,
a Japanese Linux/ppc distribution), so there are several packages
that are newer than those of LinuxPPC 2000.
MOL ran fine on Vine 2.0 release (basically synced with RHL6.1
or LinuxPPC 2000).

So I suspect some fundamental packages have to do with the problem,
but I cannot figure out why mol.o version says 0.0.38.

Any ideas?
