Well, let me explain were I'm at...

I am an old Macintosh user and I find myself with Linux installed and
trying to get a grasp on the command line interface as well as the
Gnome desktop.

I should also explain that I am the occasional internet user and
usually ask my wife to email and check web sites for me on her
machine.

1. So first of all I have a little hang up with XBoot, I can start in
Mac and then reboot to Linux but for some reason if I just want to go
directly to Linux when my machine starts everything hangs at the
screen saying: booting...

I get the idea of going into yaboot.config and changing the script
but change it to what? could someone give we some guidance here??

2. I sure would like to try MOL (mac-on-linux) but how do I do that?
Do I run a script or am I launching something? I believe I installed
MOL but beyond that I know not where to travel next?
I have noted that inside my systems folder (on my mac) I have a Linux
Kernels folder and in it is vmlinux_man_on_linux. I think this must
be a good thing, right? And should I look for a utility that will
allow me to mount my Linux partition (on my mac) or should I stay
away from that for now?

3. I would like Linux to see my printer which is on a ethernet
network. If I go in as the administrator how do I find the printer
and how would I give myself privileges? I have found a chapter on
privileges in the "Teach yourself linux in ten minutes" book - but I
would be interested to know what has worked for you. I also have the
Linux for dummies book as well. Is there a book for the old Macintosh
user? One with lots of screen captures?

Yes I do have a lot of questions and I appear quite lost so if you
could direct me to a website with answers or to some archives with
answers I would be greatly appreciative.

I thank any and all in advance for any help I may receive ... or
maybe someone could adopt me for a month and I could just look over
your shoulder and ask a billion questions, no I don't think that
would work either.

Find a flat surface, and somebody will find something to put on it.
