Also, running Xconfigurator from the command line will allow you to
set up your X resolution if you're not using Xpmac (which ignores the
XF86Config file) - I'm using the accelerated FX68_FBDev server
mentioned in the "Blue G3 FAQ" at linucppc.org

Although if I use Xconfigurator, I need to readjust the keyboard and
mouse settings, manually, in XF86Config so my USB keyboard and mouse
are recognized by X in this G4. ( as noted on
http://people.a2000.nl/omoerbe/ ) Where does Xconfigurator keep
getting its defaults from for the XkbKeycodes, Xkbmodel, etc settings
when run so I can set them for mac settings? Maybe a lot of the
issues I'm having are corrected in LinuxPPC 2000 for the G4... ;)

OB MOL question -

I would love to be able to use a program called FB Lab, which uses a
hardware USB key ("dongle"). Currently my set up is CCD Camera
(hooked up to a microscope) (serial) -> Keyspan serial->USB converter
-> G4 (with hardware USB dongle on USB keyboard). This setup works
under MacOS, but under MOL, something is not getting recognized; -
but I can't tell from the error message - either the Dongle or the
camera through the Keyspan adapter. The program refuses to run
because of this (it needs the camera working, too) I'm guessing this
is probably a problem on the linux side of things, not passing along
info to the MOL. I'm going to try
http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/devices.php3 's driver to see if it's
the camera/keyspan side of things, but I'm not quite sure what to do
about the dongle. any suggestions?
Erick

The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new
discoveries, is not "Eureka!" (I found it!) but "That's funny ..."
