That doesn't seem to be it. My Mac partition is HFS+ and its on hda4. I can get it to boot by either:

blkdev: /dev/hda -rw
or
blkdev: /dev/hda4 -rw

but it always comes up read-only. My swap disk also comes up read-only with a warning that it is already mounted under linux.

Any other ideas?
