Hello again,

Thanks for the last round of suggestions in my quest to run mol on
my Powerbook 3400. I have tried several things but am still having
problems.

My set-up is the following. I have a Powerbook 3400/200 using
Linux kernel 2.2.14-1.3.0bpmac patched with the 2.2.15 mol kernel patch.
I am using mol-0.9.50. I have now installed Mac OS 9.0.4, instead of trying
to use 8.0 as before. I have obtained the ROM file from the Mac OS CD and
run strip_nwrom on it and placed it in the /usr/lib/mol/rom area. I
then set the molrc file for new_world rom operation and pointing at the
rom file.

Unfortunately, I get the same error condition as I did when
running Mac OS 8.0. There are then two complaints printed something like this:

        kernel-module version mismatch
                /usr/lib/mol/modules/mol.o was compiled for kernel
version 2.2.17pre10-ben1 while this kernel is version
                2.2.14-1.3.0bpmac

        kernel-module version mismatch
                /usr/lib/mol/modules/sheep_net.o was compiled for
kernel version 2.2.17pre10-ben1 while this kernel is
                version 2.2.14-1.3.0bpmac

Then things move on to the following:

        version 0.9.50
        Using resource file '/etc/molrc'
        Using MOL library directory '/usr/lib/mol'
        MOL kernel module 1.1.50

Then the powerbook just completely hangs for several minutes. Then it
reboots, presumably because Linux is being starved of cpu time.

        Any suggestions?

                                Desperately,

                                        Bob Kehoe
