Actually, this is because Apple changed the way the
computer recieves audio CD sounds. Instead of getting
it off of an audio cable from the CD player to the
motherboard, it "pulls" it straight off the data bus.
There's no audio cable in the newer computers at all.
So CDPlay and such can't work because they're
expecting the audio from a different source than it's
coming from. (It's really annoying).
