The latest release of MOL (0.9.51) is now available for download
from <http://www.maconlinux.org>. The changes in brief:
Session save and restore. This feature makes it possible to save a
MOL-session to disk (by pressing F12). At a later time, the session
can be restarted almost instantly.
This version is again fully 2.4 compatible. No runtime patching
is necessary (make sure the kernel has been compiled with MOL support).
A RPM for 2.4 is availble on download page.
Support of multiple ethernet interfaces. It is now possible to configure
multiple network interfaces. In particular, it is possible to run IP over a tap
device and AppleTalk over eth0. Stability and speed should also have been improved.
A special utility for configuring the full screen video modes has been written.
This should simplify things quite a bit. Console switching should also
be more stable now.
Interrupt driven audio (remember to upgrade the MOLAudio extension!).
Miscellaneous bugfixes. In particular, a security problem has been fixed.
Upgrading to 0.9.51 is *strongly encouraged*.
VNC hextile. Bob Hawbakers hextile patch for VNC has been included in MOL.
New IRQ layer. A new internal IRQ layer has been implemented. The new scheme
makes it simple to write new drivers and the three driver limit has been
removed completely. The debugger has also been made stand alone.
