Yes, it should... However, it appears it doesn't.
I did setup a local lpd queue on my machine, but I also get errors
in MacOS. The line "protocol screwup" showed up in the log, so I think
the problem is the connection between MOL and linux - in particular
since printing to the lpd spool works from other machines in the
network too. (MOL can print to lpd spools hosted on remote machines
though.)

When I get some time, I'll try to analyze the network traffic to
see what goes wrong. In the meantime, I suggest using papd
and netatalk as a workaround (it is useful to share a local
volume via afpd/netatalk anyway).

Btw, I've got reports that the 0.9.53 version have problems patching
2.2 kernels due to a modifications in the startmol script (change
'else if' to 'elif'). I'll upload a fixed version later today.
