Subject: Ethertap Restricting UDP

** This was sent last week, during a time when my mail server wasn't
working properly, since I got no responses I thought I'd try again. Please
excuse the repitition if you've seen this message before.

Although I've been delighted to have ethertap working, I've noticed a few
apps that don't work (and this happened with 0.9.41 as well). Is it
possible that something within the configuration that I'm using restricts
some types of traffic (afterall it is a firewall) or is there a restriction
within EtherTap? When I use MacTCP Watcher and do a UDP ping to
192.168.0.1 (my router), the result is all packets are dropped.
I first recognized a problem when I tried to send mail from YA NewsWatcher
and more recently with QuickTime streams. When I try to open BBC News, I
first connect, then negotiate, and then QT reports "requested data," as it
streams away. But nothing is received by MOL. When I hit the pause
button, QT reports "pause 454: Session Not Found."
