Subject: help with mol on wallstreet [powerbook G3 series]

hello,
i'm running mol 0.9.38-1 with a 2.2.17 kernel and [what i think is] an
8.6 ROM, from the maconlinux site. when i run startmol, the mac on linux
window opens, but the mac OS boot process seems to stop as soon as the
happy-mac appears. no error gets displayed, but it just sits there. the
drive's not cranking away, and the boot process shouldn't take that
long, so something's getting wedged somewhere. i*do* have all my
partitions mounting as ro for now -- i wanted to make sure mol didn't
eat the hfs partitions. i tried it -rw too, though -- made no
difference.
can someone please let me know what this is symptomatic of? i tried more
recent versions of mol, but they didn't seem to able to patch my kernel
on-the-fly. thanks in advance.
