I don't know, whether it's a related issue, but recently I did two things: installed Mac OS X (on UFS) + rsync'ed mol on regular basis. After that, that question mark flashed forever. I found that I had just /dev/hda declared in molrc. Changing that declartaion to the explicit Mac OS volume solved things. Mac OS volume is hda22 (Mac OS X is hda21).
