Can't be too basic for me - I'm just starting! :-) However again, I
am on a G4 purchased last summer, using yaboot for booting, with the
same kernel on the boot partition in Mac OS and in /boot.

The name of the kernel, again, is vmlinux-2.2.18-4hpmac.
