RPM version not ok ?

hi everybody,
trying to install the kernel modules with "rpm -i
mol-kmods-0.9.0-4.ppc.rpm" I get the following :
"only packages with major numbers <=3 are supported by this version of rpm"
I am using SUSE 7.0 on an IMAC (libc 2.1.3, RPM 3.0.4, KERNEL 2.2.16).
Have I to update the tool RPM ?
Is there any work-around ?
I donīt find the kmods in tgz format only the rpm, where is it ???
