Hi, folks.
I'm new here, but I have spent a lot of time reading the FAQs before asking
my newbie questions below. I really hope someone can help me.
I just installed MOL (mol 0.9.59-1a & mol-kmods-0.9.59-1k) from the YDL 2.0
CD (kernel 2.2.19-1k) on my B&W G3. I followed the directions to run
molvconfig and to copy "Mac OS ROM" (v8.4; Mac OS 9.2.1) from my HFS+ disk
with the hp[mount|cd|cp|umount] commands in raw mode. And I edited /etc/molrc
to use the newworld boot, mount /dev/hda6 -rw, and set the USB keyboard ID
(among a few other tweaks in the rc file).
Running startmol produces the fatal error described in the screen dump below.
I'm not clear what's happening, but I have seen other posts citing the "node
'//pci/pci-bridge/MacOnLinuxVideo:0' missing" message. I haven't found
anything on the "node '/pci/@d/pci-ata@1/ata-4@0/disk@0:5,\\:bear' missing"
message. So, I'm stuck and really need some help.
I'm guessing the Mac OS 9.2.1 ROM is to blame with my version of MOL. Right?
And I suppose there's is a easy fix for my problem. Right? (Well, at least I
hope so... ;) I'd very much appreciate some details to get my MOL working.
Should I drop back to an older ROM? Would that hurt anything when running OS
9.2.1? Should I recompile? If so, what's the best (easiest) approach?
