Mol and ibook2 problems (keyboard!)

I have a working dual boot Linux // OS X 10.1.5 configuration on
my ibook 2 (600 MHz, 12" LCD, ATI Rage128 card (not the Radeon!)).
(The Linux used is Gentoo, and the kernel was compiled
from the kernel sources provided by that distro, which I believe
are a snapshot of Benjamin Herrenschmidt sources merged with some
gentoo specific features; I am not really a ppc person, so I not
following these things too closely; and purely in Linux
everything works great).

Unfortunately, I can't get MOL to work (which emerged fine from
the ebuild); maybe someone can help me:

Full screen mode: OS X starts up wonderfully. However, I can't
use the keyboard, e.g., in a terminal window, the first key I press
gets repeated infinitely (just like I were running 'yes <key>').
I suppose my ADB keyboard ID is c4; that's what dmesg seems
to suggest, I also pass the kernel the
keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes=1 string.

Whenever I try to start mol (from console for full screen OS X), I
get:

...
Could not open proc/sys/dev/mac_hid/keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes
...
Adbcode -1 out of range (max=127)
<repeated about 20 or so times>
...

Everything else seems OK. Does anyone have suggestions what
I can/could do? I am really stuck? Whatever I tried did not lead to
any progress. I'm happy to provide more info if needed.

A second question, but that is secondary: What combination of
XF86 settings and molrc.video settings are people using on an
ibook(2)? Normal X is working fine, OPEN GL is hardware accelerated.
However, OS X started from X Windows is absolutely distorted colorwise, it
looks as if it neither gets its own palette, nor does it get enough
colors. This looks like it's going to be my second problem after the
keyboard.

Thanks for any help!
