No.. just do 'startmol -1'. This will boot MacOS from the CD (if you
are using the default /etc/mol/molrc.macos config file)...

If you rename your System Folder and debless it by putting
the Finder file into a newly created folder, 'disabled finder',
then you should be able to install a new System Folder on the
your HFS partition without affecting the old one.

An alternative is installing MacOS on a linux side disk image.
(look in the archive for information how to setup a disk image).

Yes. But make sure you get the correct 'Mac OS ROM' file and put it
into the System Folder. Also, if MOL hangs in the middle of the 
startup, disable serial-related stuff like "built-in seral".
