Did you run 'molvconfig' to test and choose a framebuffer resolution?
Did it say 'OK' (in green) in all three tests to a specific resolution 
(OS X is no good in 16bpp)?
Maybe you should restore the original configs, perhaps you set something 
  wrong there.
