Old World booting on New World Mac

Hi,

per Ben's suggestion, here's a bit more info. about
the hang I see booting OS 7.6 and 8.0 (but not 8.1) on
MOL.

Right during the first bootup screen (ie the one which
sometimes says "extensions disabled" I hit an infinite
loop...

0003b378 lwz     r0,12(r31)
0003b37c cmpwi   r0,0
0003b380 bne     0x3b378 -->
0003b378 lwz     r0,12(r31)

etc.

regs shows R31 contains:   000720f0 . Anyway, if
there's interest, I'm happy to provide more debugging
info. BTW, does anyone have experience with networking
on MacOS 8.1? Namely, is it expected to work (using
TAP)?
