Can you change the bitdepth and resolution afterwards? Also, if you want it
to start up in a particular depth and res, the only way I have been able to
do so was use console/framebuffer mode and "force" a display res and
bitdepth by only specifying what I wanted in molvconfig. This works well
for me since I have an LCD (I just run native res), so I told it I only
wanted 1024x768x32 at 60hz and it always starts with this now. The only
drawback is I really can't change the resolution anymore. This isn't a
problem for me, but it might be for you. Maybe somebody else has a better
idea, but if this one is suitable to use, I recommend it as it seems to work
well.
