Oldworld booting fails

I am trying to boot MacOS 8, but mol quits with the message:

Instruction Pointer not in ROM/RAM (nip 6806DFF0, nip_phys 6806DFF0)

I am trying an oldworld boot using a powermac 8500 rom image and the 
supplied oftree.8500 ; mol version is 0.9.69-pre5 ; machine is a powermac 
G4, AGP graphics.
