mol must be setuid root to run?

Now another question which has been bothering me for a long time as
well.  Every time I upgrade mol and in the terminal I get this.

$  startmol -X

Starting MOL session 1
Mac-on-Linux must be setuid root!


So as root I go and setuid mol and startmol in /usr/lib/mol/bin and then
I  can startmol -X just fine BUT when the next upgrade comes along I
have to start the whole procedure over again.  Is there a way I don't
have to go through this on every mol upgrade?
