Kernel question

Help relieve my paranoia. :-)

On the YDL home page there is an rpm for the 2.4.18 kernel. Im running 2.4.=
10 that came with 2.1. However, the kernel up the yup mirrors is still th=
e 2.4.10. Is it a proper assumption that unless there is a serious securi=
ty issue with 2.4.10 it will continue to be the one on yup for 2.1?

I've never done an RPM upgrade of the kernel. Would that be a (U)pgrade or =
(i)nstall? ie -Uvh or -ivh?
