Reversing a Kernel Upgrade (?)

I've not done a kernel update via RPM before, but my guess is that it
would leave the original kernel stuff intact, install the new kernel and
remap to it.

Try this (but be careful by backing up /boot first):
As root:

1. Make sure that /boot/vmlinux and /boot/System.map are symlinks, and
not the actual files. If they are indeed symlinks, remove them.

2. ln -s /boot/vmlinux-2.2.19 /boot/vmlinux
   ln -s /boot/System.map-2.2.19 /boot/System.map

3. Reboot. This should effectively remap your system to use the original
kernel.

4. You MAY have to recompile/install the kernel modules, I'm not sure.

If anyone has corrections or additions, by all means add or fix.

Hope this helps!

Shawn
