Sound Issues

Thanks for the tips on sound Dan. Very helpful indeed. I seem to have a 
greater problem (stupidity). I downloaded the xmms-cdread, untarred it, 
and now have a folder in my home directory full of stuff that is pretty 
foreign to my Macintosh GUI lovin' eyes.

As I gather, I'm supposed to type these commands into my terminal?

./configure
make
make install

while I'm in the newly untarred folder I type "./configure", hit return 
and get a message like"checking for working aclocal... missing" and 
"checking for working autoconf... missing" so on and so forth.

Am I missing something? (other than obviously)
