This is standard procedure for building Linux applications.

> make install

autoconf and aclocal are development tools that you probably haven't 
installed on your system - you probably don't want the hassle of installing 
them either.  The alternative is to search rpmfind.net for a pre-built rpm, 
like this one:

http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/yellowdog/1.0/yellowdog-2.1/ppc/YellowDog/ppc
/xmms-cdread-0.9a-1.ppc.html

which you can install with rpm -ivh xmms-cdread-0.9a-1.ppc.rpm
