Install problems on B&W G3

Hey there all, attempting to help a freind install 2.2 on a B&W G3 here, having never done a new world install, I'm having some troubles, Hold down the C key during startup, no dice, boots to MacOS, set the CD as the startup disk in 9.2.1, and it boots to a certain extent, stalling with the error:

	"method 'draw rectangle' not found"

I've tried doing 'install-text hdc=ide-scsi'  at the OF prompt, and I get:

	"unknown word"

This is a vanilla B&W, stock CD-ROM drive, any ideas?
