unable to mount cdrom

I had the same problem. I have a Quicksilver G4 with a second IDE hard drive.

I simply edited my /etc/fstab so that
	/dev/cdrom
read
	/dev/hdc
and inserted CD's now mount and work properly.

(Except for the sound. I still can't get it to play music CD's. 
Actually, that's not true. It mounts and plays the CD's, but no sound 
comes out.)
