Thanks Mark, that did the trick.

Since I was using Apple's utility I had to reformat the entire disk 
and re-install MacOS as well, but since I'm just using a minimal 
MacOS partition that wasn't a problem. After that the install went 
smoothly and my machine is up and running! :-)
