I've got garnome 0.18 working with gnome 2.1.1 ok.  There were a couple 
of paths in the makefiles that needed adjusting to locate certain 
installed packages, and one of the makefiles had a small bug in it 
(trying to copy a file that wasn't there). Once those things were 
resolved, adding the option to kwm (or gdm) was easy.

Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly what I did (I keep telling 
myself I should write things down!), but it wasn't *that* difficult.
