Scanner?

Wondering if anyone could recommend a scanner that would work on a Powerbook
G3 running YD 2.2?  One of my family members has hundreds of old old family
photographs that we'd like to digitize & I thought it would probably be a
lot easier to send her the notebook & a scanner as opposed to a tower PC &
scanner (which I already have).  At any rate, this is a one time deal, once
these are scanned it wouldn't get a lot of use - so I really don't want to
spend a lot of money on one...  Any recommendations?
