iBook2 screen resolution

Dear All,
I am about to install YDL 2.3 on my iBook2.  The install guide states 
that my screen resolution should be 600x800, but it is in actuality 
1024x768 and in millions of colors, not the thousands suggested by 
the guide.  I ask this because the SuSE distribution I was using, I 
believe, supported both.  Is this just old information or a 
limitation of the YDL distro?  By the by, I did check the YDL support 
site and found no further information about the iBook2.
