Do you still have the packaging box that you got with your ibook?  It
should be on there.

same... which I would think as strange for the kernel as I am running it
on 2.4.19-rc1-ben0. I have also tried 2.4.19-pre10 and 2.4.19-pre10-ben0
kernels.  But I cannot find any significant difference between them
related to running X.

I have tried both YDL 2.2 and 2.3.  The specs for M8600LL/A are close to
the bottom of the page at http://www.apple.com/ibook/specs.html

Could I take a look at your XF86Config-4 file?
