Sound input?

Hi again.

I noticed that YDL 2.x no longer supports sound input, at least on
tbooks. The line in (or microphone for that matter) does not even
appear in mixers. Why such a downgrade (I should notice that my old
iMac running LinuxPPC 2000 Q4 does have sound input support)? Is there
any hope to have such support in the near future?
