Backup devices

Unreliability was the issue. I bought a Travan NS20 and I spent over a
year trying to get it to work reliably. I have tried the internal SCSI
bus, 2 SCSI cards and just about every Linux backup program out there.
Only afbackup came anywhere near to working. I get medium errors reported
- though never in the same place twice. I have tried the tape on two
machines ... Of course, the drive may be faulty but I can't prove this and
the supplier does not support Linux.
