I have been interested to know also if Linux could be booted from the
iPod.  That would be a nice way to take Linux with you without carrying
a laptop if there where other Macs you could depend upon with Firewire
capability.

I really don't know how the iPod is setup, I would assume it is an HFS+
file system, and from what I understand, YDL or Linux in general cannot
mount them (yet?).  Perhaps you could use a Linux compatible file system
on it?
