I'm sure with a reformat that the iPod would work fine w/ Linux but you
would lose the music playing capabilities of the player. I believe there
is a group working on this problem for Windows machines (FAT32 and have
music working). Don't have a link on me at the moment but if they do
manage to succeed, you may be able to get some ideas on how to get it to
work.
