Install problems on 8500/G3

I have an 8500 with a NewerTech MaxPOWR G3/366. When I boot to the 2.2
install, the screen I get is 1/2 of the CRT and unreadable. I can't tell if
I click DISAGREE or AGREE. It does not seem to be able to give me the X
setup even though I choose the x11 ramdisk image. How can I get this to
work?
