basic java question - and flash player

1) I am running Mozilla under fvwm and Java plugins
work fine. 

While this isn't helpful to you, there is a 
setting in
Edit->Preferences...->Advanced->Scripts&Windows
that you might want to check.

2) I also checked out the Macromedia player and I
would suppose that the libraries are compiled for
the Intel platform. I am not sure whether source code
is available but I would doubt it.
