YDLers,

By default both browsers, Konqueror (kde) and Mozilla (gnome) are configured
to support java enabled websites [settings -> configure konqueror -> File
associations -> x-java] but neither do. (java interperter disabled - > error
message) How do i enable the java interpreter?

Also i tried to download (and sucessfully installed, i thought) a flash
player recently from the macromedia site and this is what happens when i try
to run Mozilla now:

[davidwri@RR davidwri]$ mozilla &
[1] 2571
[davidwri@RR davidwri]$ LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
[/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so: ELF file data encoding not
big-endian]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ShockwaveFlash.class
[/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ShockwaveFlash.class: invalid ELF header]

It will run but will not, obviously load the plugins, are they only supposed
be plugins for Netscape? that was the suggested browser, i though netscape
was "based" on Mozilla.

Also on a Java elated note, i would like to start learning java what would
someone recommend? Is it as "simple" as installing the IBM Java package (The
IBM Developer Kit for Linux) from the "bonus" cd's that comes with the
standard YDL distro?
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux130/.

Thanks for all your help.
