ok, using mpg123 or xmms, no matter what output plugin I choose, I only g=
et=20
either loud, hisssing static or an error message that the sound output ca=
n't=20
be used/found/enabled etc.

However, I can use xmms to play wav files and other audio sources just fi=
ne. =20
Additionally, all other system sounds seem to work just fine under kde3.

Another interesting note - if I shut X down and try to play an mp3 via a=20
terminal using mpg123, it works as it should.. using the oss output...

How come I can't play mp3's in X?
